Cyprus Delivers Military Assistance to Peshmerga
Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides has revealed that they recently sent a shipment of military assistance to Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga forces as part of the international partnership for the war against Islamic State (IS).
He stated that Cyprus will continue delivering additional shipments of arms to the Kurds.
According to the official, the recent shipment consisted of Serbian Zastava rifles and ammunition.
"As the recent events in Syria and Iraq have proven once again, religion is used both as a means and as an end during armed conflicts," Kasoulides pointed out at the Conference of European Churches.
