Iraqi media reports claim presence of Israeli troops in Iraq
Media reports from Iraq have claimed that hundreds of Israeli troops are deployed in Iraq under fake identities, conducting special non-combat missions in the country.
Quoting an anonymous source said to be high-profile from Iraq, the media reports said that 250 to 300 Israeli soldiers are stationed at Taji military base north of Baghdad, using American or Canadian passports to disguise their real identifications.
The source also claimed that the soldiers are indeed missioned to find antiquities associated with Jews, buy them at any cost and take them out of Iraq.
Their second mission, according to the reports, is to support civil society activists and organisations, especially young men and women across Iraq.
