Lufthansa, Austrian Resume Flights to Erbil This Week
Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines have announced that their flights to Kurdistan Region’s capital Erbil will resume on Monday this week.
“Following the lift of operational restrictions, Austrian Airlines plans to resume its daily flight connection between Vienna and Erbil, Iraq, starting on 26 March 2018,” the airline announced on its official Twitter account.
“Lufthansa plans to fly between Frankfurt and Erbil on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with its first operation on Tuesday, March 27,” Reuters reported.
The resumption of the flights to Erbil International Airpot comes after the Iraqi government earlier this month lifted a flight ban on the Kurdistan Region.
Turkish Airlines, Royal Jordan and several other airlines confirmed the resumption of their operations to Erbil earlier.
